As another school year rolls around, it’s another chance to engage little minds and find creative ways to supplement learning with crafts and activities that let kids use their hands and their brains. Tooth decay, which is nearly 100% preventable, is quite common among school-age children. In fact, it’s the number one chronic disease among children. So, teaching kids what cavities are, why they’re harmful and how to prevent them from forming is a great way to get kids thinking about their health.
This fun craft shows kids how and why these cavities begin to form on their chompers and why brushing and flossing every day is so important. And you won’t need to search high and low for ingredients—you probably already have everything on hand, making it the perfect activity for parents, teachers and caregivers.
