Mouth-Healthy Recipe: Dark Chocolate Peppermint Bark

Celebrate the season with a sweet treat that’s better for your teeth and waistline. Dark chocolate peppermint bark combines antioxidants and refreshing mint for a guilt-free indulgence. Dark chocolate in moderation may also support heart health and boost your mood during the busy holiday season.

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies

Directions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  3. Stir in peppermint extract.
  4. Pour chocolate onto the baking sheet, spreading evenly.
  5. Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top.
  6. Refrigerate 30–45 minutes until set. Break into pieces and serve.
