Mouth-Healthy Recipe: Frozen Chocolate-Covered Banana Bites

Frozen Chocolate-Covered Banana Bites

These frozen chocolate banana bites are the perfect mix of sweet, salty and satisfying. Made with just a few simple ingredients like bananas, dark chocolate and coconut oil, they’re an easy way to enjoy a healthier dessert. Bananas provide natural sweetness and potassium, while dark chocolate offers antioxidants for an added boost. Keep a batch in the freezer for a cool, better-for-you treat any time you need it!

Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • flaky sea salt
  • Optional toppings: peanut butter, pretzels or honey

Directions:

  1. Cut the bananas into slices, then arrange on a parchment-lined baking and freeze 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, line a cupcake mold with paper liners. Melt the chocolate and coconut oil together in a bowl in the microwave. Heat on 30-second intervals until melted. Drop 2 teaspoons of melted chocolate into each liner.
  3. Add the frozen banana slices. Pour over the melted chocolate to mostly cover the bananas. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt or additional toppings.
  4. Freeze until completely frozen, about 2 hours. Remove from the freezer, let sit 2-3 minutes and enjoy!
