Mouth Healthy Recipe: Spicy Edamame

Warm up with a little spice! Edamame is packed with healthy nutrients that are not only great for your smile, but taste great as well. This zesty dish is a perfect snack for a cold day.

Ingredients
1 1/4 cups frozen shelled edamame (green soybeans), thawed
2 tsp olive oil
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/8 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Place the thawed edamame into a mixing bowl, drizzle with the olive oil, and then sprinkle with chili powder, basil, onion powder, cumin, paprika and black pepper. Toss until the edamame are evenly coated with the oil and spices. Spread onto a 9×13 inch glass baking dish in a single layer.
  3. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven until the beans begin to brown, about 12 to 15 minutes. Stir once halfway through cooking.
