Getting out of the office is good for you and it’s proven to increase productivity – so your boss should like it too. Plan some PTO or leverage your 3-day weekend for one of these summer vacation ideas.

Waves

Laying out by the lake or enjoying pool time is a great way to spend time with family and soak in the sun, assuming you’re slathered in the appropriate SPF of course! Check out some of these local favorites:

The Buckeye Aquatic Center features a 160-foot water slide, a beachfront area and a 10-foot high dive. Single in the city? Try the W Scottsdale. It has a beautiful pool with giant lamps, lit palm trees and weekend DJs.

You could go to Lake Powell, but if you’re a last-minute planner, try something less well-known like Bartlett Lake. Just an hour out of Tempe, the lake offers shoreline camping and great recreational access. Before you go, check out our tips for staying safe in the heat.

Sunsets

Get your cardio in and take a hike. Just go for the day or turn it into a budget-friendly camping trip to enjoy your long weekend. Try one of these 5 trail treks.

Conversations

Can’t get out of town? Host a get-together with friends and family. Drinks over your backyard fire pit, hot dogs on the grill or friendly chats while the children play are all great ways to reconnect with what’s important.

Don’t wait too much longer. Plan your summer vacation today!
