Dentist Spotlight: Dr. Goli Asadi

Dr. Goli Asadi of Terravita Smiles

We’d like to introduce you to Delta Dental dentist, Dr. Goli Asadi of Terravita Smiles in Scottsdale. Dr. Asadi has 25 years of experience in general and cosmetic dentistry. Her practice offers a wide range of services, including crowns, implants, cosmetic procedures and more!

What made you decide to become a dentist?

I am a fourth-generation dentist, so you could say it’s in my blood. I grew up around dentistry and I never even considered another career path. I love what I do!

What is your specialty/area of interest?

I enjoy a good mix of all types of general dentistry.

Do you brush and floss as much as you recommend?

I recommend that my patients brush their teeth three times a day and floss at least once a day. I floss once a day, but due to my busy schedule, I usually only get two out of my three brushings in.

What is your favorite flavor toothpaste?

I love cinnamon! Cinnamon toothpaste, cinnamon floss and even cinnamon gum!

Electric or manual toothbrush (for yourself and recommended for patients)?

I recommend an electric toothbrush for my patients and I use an electric toothbrush myself. My kids even use an electric toothbrush as well.

Which celebrity has the best smile and why?

Jennifer Lopez has a beautiful smile. Her teeth appear naturally white and she has a great smile line.

If you could tell patients to stop doing one thing, what would it be?

Stop chewing on crushed ice. It breaks and chips your teeth and wears them down.

What is the best dental advice you’ve ever received?

In dental school, my fourth-year prosthetics professor told me that no matter what setting you’re in, whether it’s your own practice, a dental organization or otherwise, always take your time and do proper dental work the first time around. You never want to have to do any procedure twice – do it correctly the first time.

What is the best thing about being a Delta Dental dentist?

Delta Dental is run by dentists, which helps them stay connected with the needs of their dentists.

What are three things that always make you smile?

  1. My kids. I have two boys, 10 and 12 years old.
  2. When I do a great job on a difficult dental case.
  3. My good health.

March is National Nutrition Month. What is your favorite tooth-healthy snack and what makes it so good for your smile?

I found these delicious, sugar-free Xylitol Lollipops on Amazon. They’re great for kids and adults, especially if you have a sweet tooth. Plus, each one is shaped like a tooth!

If you were stuck on a desert island, what three items would you bring?

  1. My kids
  2. My cell phone
  3. Mascara

Is there anything else you’d like us to know?

I believe in honest, good-quality dentistry. I recommend what’s necessary for the patient and nothing extra. We don’t oversell treatment plans. Our goal is simply to ensure the patient’s mouth is healthy.

In her spare time, she can be found exploring new hiking trails with her German Shepherd, Rocky, or training for her next half-marathon. She is grateful to have found her way to DDAZ and loves supporting the mission and vision of the company. Cassie was lucky enough to not only have braces as a child, but to also wear Invisalign for several years as an adult, so her passion for a healthy smile goes well beyond her workplace role.
