Mouth Healthy Recipe: Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs on green lettuce

Deviled eggs don’t have to be so devilish. This version of the picnic staple is lower in fat and calories than the standard recipe and it adds calcium-rich cottage cheese.

Ingredients
12 hard-boiled eggs
1/3 cup nonfat cottage cheese
1/4 cup low-fat mayo
1 T pickle relish
2 tsp yellow mustard
1/8 tsp salt
Paprika for garnish

Directions
Halve the boiled eggs lengthwise with a sharp knife and gently remove all of the yolks. Place 16 of the yolk halves in a bowl; discard the other eight or save for another recipe. Add cottage cheese, mayo, relish, mustard and salt to your bowl of yolks and mix until smooth. Fill each egg white with the mixture, sprinkle with paprika and enjoy.
