Dentist Spotlight: Dr. Timothy Wilson

From left to right: Dr. Anfinson, Dr. Itty, Dr. Goldstein and Dr. Wilson of Affiliated Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics

This month, we’d like to introduce you to Delta Dental dentist Dr. Timothy Wilson of Affiliated Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics (APDO) in Scottsdale. APDO offers pediatric dental services starting at age 1 and orthodontic services for patients of all ages.

Do you brush and floss as much as you recommend?
Yes, you have to lead by example.

What is your favorite flavor of floss?
Bacon! Everything is better with bacon!

Electric or manual toothbrush?
Sonicare DiamondClean Smart Electric Toothbrush. Manual brushes are great for archaeological digs, cleaning under fingernails or hard to reach places in the car.

Which celebrity has the best smile?
Austin Powers. He is great motivation to keep those teeth clean. Yeah, baby!

If you could tell patients to stop doing one thing, what would it be?
Please stop sipping on energy drinks all day long. It rots your teeth at the gum line and makes your smile look bad. You will get less “likes” on your Instagram and YouTube channel. This is the reason why Snapchat pictures delete after five seconds.

What is the best dental advice you’ve ever received?
Floss only the teeth you want to keep.

What is the best thing about being a Delta Dental dentist?
Delta Dental of Arizona supports cavity prevention. The Delta Dental Foundation understands the impact that education can make on a child’s health, growth and development.

What is your favorite dental joke?
Do trains have teeth?
If not, then how do they “choo choo”?

If you were stuck on a desert island, what three items would you bring?
A sail boat, a fishing pole and sunscreen.
